The catalogue is read by strangers, and some of them are children. This page says what belongs on it, what does not, how to tell us when something should not be there, and what happens then.

What belongs here

A route: a line somebody would ride or walk, with a name that says what it is and, if you like, a description of what to expect. That is the whole of it.

It can be a route you imported, one you planned in the app or one saved from a ride you recorded, and it does not have to be one you have ridden. What you may publish, and what you promise when you do, is in the terms of use.

You can also rate somebody else's route: one to five stars and nothing else. A rating is about the route, not about the person who published it.

What may not be published

Four rules. They are the same four anybody can report a route under, and they apply to the line, to the name and to the description alike.

And the one that needs no report reason of its own: nothing illegal, and nothing that asks somebody else to do something illegal. Report that under Something else and say what it is.

A route that is simply wrong

Not everything that should come off the shelf is somebody's fault. A route can also be reported because:

Those are the same buckets we use for our own routes, and they are how a catalogue anybody can add to stays worth reading.

Telling us

Open the route in the app and use Report a problem. Pick the reason that fits and add anything you want us to know.

Every report is anonymous: the reason, whatever you typed and the route it is about are recorded — not who filed it. Who reported what is never shown to the person reported, or to anybody else.

A route is the only thing there is to report. A rating is a star with no words in it, so there is nothing in one to judge and no way to report it.

What happens then

A person reads it. One of these follows:

Whoever published it is told by e-mail and in the app, in their own language: what was decided, the reason and the day. Our internal notes are never sent and never made public.

If you think a decision about your own route is a mistake, write to the address at the foot of this page and a person will read it. What a moderator has taken down you cannot put back yourself, and deleting your own route is not a way around it: a route moderation is holding refuses to be deleted, and says so.

The check before something is stored

Everything you write that a stranger ends up reading is checked automatically before it is stored: the name on your profile — the name your published routes are signed with — and the title and the description you write for a route. First against a word list of our own, and then, for whatever gets past it, by a classifier running on our provider's infrastructure. If what you wrote is refused you are told at once and nothing is saved: change it and try again.

When the check is not sure, what you wrote is stored and goes up as normal, and a person reads it afterwards — on the same screen as everything riders report. What that person may decide is the list above.

The check is automatic and it is wrong in both directions sometimes. If you think it judged what you wrote badly, write to the address at the foot of this page and a person reads it.
